Furman Joseph Byrd may have been born on Feb. 1, 1950. He was 18 years old when he went missing from Boston, Massachusetts, and despite the efforts of local authorities, his whereabouts are still unknown more than five decades later.
Byrd, who lived in Cleveland, Ohio, was last seen on June 28, 1968, but it wasn’t until 48 years later, in 2016, that his disappearance was reported to the police.
It is unclear why it took over four decades for a missing person’s report to be filed for Byrd.
There are a few details available in his case, but what has been reported is that Byrd was in Boston because he might have been an art student.
He is described as a Black or African American male with black hair and brown eyes. He was between five-foot-six and five-foot-ten inches tall and weighed between 130 and 150 pounds.
Cleveland authorities are investigating his case.
