Grace Harmon was 52 years old when she was murdered. Her body was found inside her home in New Castle, Delaware, more than four decades later, and the person responsible for her death has yet to be brought to justice.
In the early morning hours of Oct. 3, 1979, officers with the New Castle County Police Department were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of Donhaven Drive, which was located in the Garfield Park neighborhood, the New Castle County Police reported.
When officers arrived, they found Harmon inside the home; she was pronounced dead on the scene.
An autopsy revealed that Harmon had died from blunt force trauma.
There are a few details available in her case.
According to her obituary, Harmon was married, and she had two biological children and two stepchildren.
She also had seven grandchildren.
Her funeral service was held at noon on Oct. 9, 1979, at the Gracelawn Memorial Chapel on DuPont Highway in New Castle.
Harmon was buried at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
