Karen Rena Hawkins, also known as “Peaches,” was an infant girl whose murder, which occurred in Washington, DC, has remained unsolved for over 50 years.
On May 17, 1968, Karen went missing from her home in the 2400 block of 18th Street, NW, and she was presumably reported missing thereafter.
A few days later, Karen was found dead.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, Karen’s body was discovered in the basement of a home, which was located in the 2500 block of 17th Street, NW.
Officials have yet to reveal a cause of death, but they are investigating her death as a homicide.
Karen’s exact age and other details surrounding her death are unknown, as there are few details available in her case.
